Fir Trees in Six Finishes and Four Sizes

Our hand- turned wooden fir trees made from baseball bat scraps are unique and artistic creations that repurpose discarded or unused sections of baseball bats. These trees are handcrafted by my team of skilled artisans who possess woodworking expertise and a keen eye for detail.

To create these fir trees, we start with the remnants and offcuts of baseball bats. These may include broken bats, damaged pieces, or sections that are too short for use in regular bats. Instead of letting these materials go to waste, they transform them into stunning wooden trees.

The process begins by selecting the appropriate bat scraps that will serve as the branches and trunk of the tree. We carefully examine each piece, considering its shape, size, and grain pattern, to determine the most suitable placement for maximum aesthetic appeal.

Using traditional woodworking techniques, the artisans shape and turn the bat scraps on a lathe. The lathe spins the wood, allowing us to carve and shape it with precision. They use chisels, gouges, and other tools to remove excess material and create the desired form.

As we work, we pay close attention to the natural grain of the wood. The grain patterns add character and uniqueness to each tree, resulting in a visually captivating piece. The minimalist interpretation of the fir boughs is carefully positioned to create a balanced and organic appearance, taking inspiration from the branching patterns of real trees.

Six finishes are available: Natural, Green, Green fringe on Natural, Snow White, Green with Snow, , and Natural with Snow.

Each finish type allows the natural beauty of the wood to shine, as well as applies a protective finish to enhance the color and texture. The tree base is stamped with the Hauskaa Vermont logo.

The fir trees are available in XS-ish (@4.25-5.25”) Small-ish (@5.5-6.25”),Medium-ish (@6.5-7.5"), and Large-ish (@8-8.75”). Due to the handmade nature of the trees, all sizes are approximate.
